David is a partner in the firm's Greenville, South Carolina office. Since 2006, David has devoted his litigation practice to defending physicians, hospitals and other healthcare facilities, medical practices, mid-level providers, dentists and other healthcare professionals in medical and professional malpractice litigation throughout the state and federal courts of South Carolina.
He has extensive experience defending clients in jury trials and has achieved a high success rate of defense verdicts and dismissals for his clients, including cases with significant and catastrophic exposure from allegations of birth injuries, brain damage and wrongful death.
David has defended physicians in almost every specialty, including obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, pathology, pulmonology, general surgery, bariatric surgery, urology, radiology, internal medicine, family medicine, ophthalmology, pain management, and dermatology.
David frequently consults with risk managers and advises hospitals and other healthcare facilities on a wide range of legal issues, including litigation risks, peer review, HIPAA, patient safety and various policies and procedures. He also represents physicians, nurses, dentists in LLR investigations and proceedings before the South Carolina Medical Board and the South Carolina Board of Dentistry, respectively. He has also successfully defended pharmaceutical companies in negligence actions.
