Before joining the firm, Marla-Deen spent over 10 years with the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Georgia handling habeas corpus cases, capital murder appeals and death penalty matters. She defended claims against the Department of Transportation, Department of Human Resources, Board of Regents and other state agencies, as well as litigating matters in the areas of consumer fraud and civil rights. While in private practice her experience includes asbestos litigation, real estate, long-term care and senior living litigation, and appellate work. She has effectively litigated before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
