Ruthie joined Huff Powell Bailey in 2024 and is an associate in the firm's Raleigh, North Carolina office. She is experienced in handling civil litigation and has defended medical and professional malpractice actions for approximately seven years. She began her practice defending medical professionals with a small boutique law firm and continues her medical malpractice defense practice with Huff Powell Bailey. Her practice with the firm is largely focused on the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and negligence cases.

Ruthie graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2017, having received the Dean's Family Law Accomplished Student Award from the North Carolina Association of Matrimonial Lawyers. She also served as the President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and as a Student Ambassador during her time at Wake Forest. Ruthie graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina Greensboro receiving her undergraduate degree in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law Studies.
