Ms. Johns largely focuses her practice on healthcare litigation and the defense of professional liability lawsuits involving hospitals and physicians. Her experience also includes medical device/pharmaceutical litigation, products liability, and nursing home defense. Since joining Huff, Powell & Bailey, LLC in 2004, Ms. Johns has contributed to the success of cases involving death and catastrophic injury, including matters involving allegations of medical negligence, before both federal and state courts.
Ms. Johns attended the University of South Carolina Honors College, where she graduated magna cum laude. She was the recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award and was awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Ms. Johns then attended law school at Vanderbilt University School of Law, where she served as the President of Phi Delta Phi. She also served as the Executive Associate Justice of the Vanderbilt Moot Court Board, and she won the Best Brief Award in the Vanderbilt Intramural Moot Court Competition.
Ms. Johns is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. She has served as a barrister in the Joseph Henry Lumpkin American Inn of Court and as a Guardian ad Litem with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Members of the legal community selected her as a "Rising Star" in the 2005, 2006, and 2009 Georgia Super Lawyers listing published by Atlanta Magazine. In 2009, Ms. Johns was selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America .
