Michael R. Boorman

Mike Boorman represents foreign and domestic companies in high exposure commercial, product liability, toxic tort and personal injury cases across the country. Mr. Boorman has represented a wide range of clients including product manufacturers, textile manufacturers, trucking companies, construction companies, hospitals, physicians, telecommunications companies, and insurance companies.

Mr. Boorman has briefed and argued dozens of motions both in state and federal courts and has served as lead counsel and second chair at several trials. He has successfully obtained defense verdicts as lead trial counsel in insurance bad faith and automotive collision cases. In addition, Boorman has particular expertise in emerging admissibility issues associated with other incidents and statistical evidence.

Notable Engagements - Representative Matters

  • Part of successful trial teams in Hockensmith v. Ford Motor Company, DiMaso v. Ford Motor Company, and Marcelino Perez-Hernandez v. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Bagnell v. Ford Motor Company (10/06), Colp v. Ford Motor Company, Woodard v. Ford Motor Company, Conley v. Ford Motor Company, Bagnell v. Ford Motor Company (retrial 2/10).
  • Successfully argued before the Georgia Court of Appeals to affirm the trial court’s exclusion of thirty-seven other incidents. Colp v. Ford Company, 279 Ga. App. 280, 630 S.E.2d 886 (2006).
  • Won appeal which affirmed summary judgment for an auto manufacturer in a product liability case in which plaintiffs failed to present competent expert testimony of alleged defect. Aldridge v. King’s Colonial Ford, Inc., 250 Ga. App. 236, 550 S.E.2d 439 (2001).
